___ABOUT THE AUTHOR___

Following a lull in spiritual growth, the author re-discovered the website, www.divinelove.org in early year 2000 which for a time in the late 1990s had vanished from the internet. This marked the beginning of a renewed interest in prayer and eventually in writing of religious articles. Several pieces of writing were published by Foundation Church of the New Birth in their quarterly magazine, "New Birth Christian Commentary". Joan Warden then approached Foley about allowing her to publish an article or two for her book, Divine Love is the Solution. Two feature articles and the preface to the 2015 book were included. Foley began hosting han ongoing 'unseen prayer circle' daily in Spring, 2006. Work on this volume began in Spring 2019 with the encouragement of his colleagues, Joan Warden, Eva Peck, Holly Bianco, Michael Nedbal, and Caroline Stokes. Three other books followed: a novel, The Sheepherder, a follow up to Making It Personal,The Gift, and Growing up with the Kuppingers, Childhood Memories of St. Louis in the 1950's. Tim is also a musician, published composer of music, hymns, and religious songs. He has been engaged for 20+ years as Pianist and Organist at Golden Gate Spiritualist Church, San Francisco, California.
__ABOUT THE BOOK__

This website is dedicated to the book, Making It Personal: Your Guide to a More Profound and Rewarding Prayer Life, published by Mindstir Media IN 2021 and available at online booksellers everywhere. It is a book about prayer, making prayer an essential part of one's life, specifically, prayer for the inflowing of Divine Love, the very Essence of Divinity. Making It Personal covers a wide range of aspects about prayer, including the history of prayer, its use by Christian contemplatives and mystics down through the ages. It also covers the problem with distractions, methods of purification, and "the soul's longings". The book is heavily referenced with liberal use of quotes from Scripture, early Christians, medieval and modern-day writers written in a formal but personal style. The book offers the readers a birds-eye view of the authors own prayer space, a discussion about forming one's own unseen prayer circle, and the author's person "Evening Prayer". If you have ever asked yourself, "Is contemplative prayer right for me?", then you need to read this book.
